Meet the Dunkley children, back-row Albert and Hetty, and front-row Lemuel, Liz and George.
This lovely family photograph was taken outside Christchurch School in 1931 or 1932.
The photograph was given to Dean Heritage Centre trustee John Belcher by Mr George Dunkley, who now lives in Cinderford.
All the boys, says Mr Belcher, grew up to work at Cannop Colliery.
Mr Belcher said George described his family as a typical local mining family.
"Times were hard as the Forest climbed out of the depression and they often had to eat bread and dripping or bread and jam," he said.
"But look at those lovely smiles. They may not have had a lot of money but they were certainly happy. I'm sure there's a message there," said Mr Belcher.
