THE area is starting to get back to normal after heavy snowfall, school closures and transport chaos.

Thick snow lying on the ground in many parts of the Forest meant lots of people were forced to stay at home.

Those who did venture out were warned to take warm blankets, food and drink in case they became stranded.

Police reported many minor accidents – the A48 was closed at Newnham when a lorry jack-knifed and the road into Bream was almost impassible with many people abandoning their vehicles to continue on foot.

Both Severn bridges were closed at once because of ice blocks falling onto car windscreens.

But children and adults alike have been making the most of the wintry weather and have sent in some fantastic pictures of their snow sculptures.

Here are some of our favourites.
