I sympathise with the residents of Allaston, who are having 200 unwanted homes foisted upon them, but I think it is harsh to blame the planning department.
The local planning officers have been forced by this Conservative government to find 1,000 new house builds and the developers use this against the planners in appeals.
The need for all these new homes is a direct result of immigration into our country jointly thanks to the previous Labour government's policy of allowing three million immigrants in and the fact that the EU forces us to accept millions of immigrants too.
Bear in mind that foreign-born mothers also supply a quarter of the births in the UK and you can see that we have to find somewhere for them all to live.
So, unfortunately, all these new houses are not for our kids and grandkids. It's not racist, it's just the truth, we are only a small country, there just ain't room.
As you can see, we have been seriously let down by both the Conservatives and Labour, maybe something to think about when we are all voting next May.
