IT'S a problem that has been ongoing for many years, but unfortunately a lot of people choose to ignore their responsibilities in clearing up their dog mess.

Lynwood Road, Lydney, which is a small road, minus pavements, leads to the woods, which makes it an obvious dog walking route. Fair enough, but please don't just leave your dog's deposits in the middle of the road for residents to clear up or step in.

You know who you are and hopefully you have a conscience. How would you like a pile of dog mess outside your house?

Of course, it's far easier to just take a quick look around and beat a hasty retreat than stoop down and clean up.

But consider the people living in the area. Why should they, some of whom choose not to have a dog, get left with the problems associated with one.

For those who are considerate and do the right thing, thank you. I just wish there were more like you.
