LYDBROOK Women’s Institute (WI) celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday in an unconventional manner last week.

They chose to yarn bomb the hawthorn tree, that the group had planted many years ago, opposite the village shop in Lydbrook. It took around an hour on Saturday (April 23) to decorate the tree with yarn, pompoms, bunting and toys all knitted by WI members.
