THE Coleford Monday Over 80s Day Centre celebrated its 40th anniversary this week with a celebratory meal at Coleford Community Centre.

But vice chairman Pam Travers says the club needs more volunteers to help it cater for the demand.

She said: "There are 53 members on the register and a waiting list. We always need people to help, particularly people to drive everyone to and from the meeting.

"It isn't often we don't have the full complement of guests – it's usually only severe illness or hospitalisation that keeps people away and they are quite a healthy group of people."

Miss Taylor celebrated her 100th birthday in January and several more of the members have passed their century.
