AT recent St Briavels parish council meeting residents who live in close proximity to the wind turbine put forward to Mr Clarke, of Resilience, and Mr Cooke, the landowner, a suggestion that trees could be planted, approximately 25 feet in height, to soften the visual impact of the turbine. This would also help the visual impact as you come along East Street in the village.
Photographs illustrating the position of the trees were shown, but Mr Cooke informed us the hedgerow along which the trees would need to be planted was not on his land but belonged to another member of his family. He said he would look into it and would ask if the planting would be allowed.
If it's acceptable this would go a long way to ease the minds of some St Briavels residents.
