THE landlord of the Royal Oak in Whitecroft is counting the cost after a hoax bomb call on Sunday cleared his busy pub and nearby cottages.
"I reckon I lost a few pounds, but against that we really had a bumper weekend with the Easter crowds," said Pete Hazelhurst.
"There was a call to the bar at eight minutes past eight and we cleared the premises and made a quick search before the police arrived. Nothing was found but we did not reopen."
Mr Hazelhurst says he thinks the person behind the call bears a grudge about the success of his business.
"Whoever was behind it really did not do me much harm but the ones who really suffered were the people in nearby houses who had to leave their homes and did not know when they would be allowed back. I hope the hoaxers know that."
The police would like to hear from anyone who can help them find the person or persons behind the call.
