May I take this opportunity through your paper to congratulate Lydney Hockey Club on organising such a fantastic morning last Thursday.
The work put in to organise the event for local school children was a credit to all in involved and to see so many young children enjoying themselves was a joy on its own.
The children from six schools in the Forest were a credit to themselves and their schools they represented and all played hockey with speed, passion and respect.
Congratulations not only go to Bream C of E School who won the competition and Drybrook School for winning the most sporting team of the day, but to all the children who played with smiles on their faces during the games and training drills.
Thanks must also be given to all the young members from Lydney Hockey Club who took time out to help and encourage all these children during the morning and to Sam Zala, Dave Penny and Cath Hutchinson for their work on the event and coaching the children in their spare time at the schools.
