YOUR reader, Hospital Supporter, states what I have been saying for 50 years: that a new hospital providing full medical facilities is long overdue in the Forest of Dean.
It should provide surgery, in- and out-patient services, consultations and all other services needed for an area.
But will it ever come? Very doubtful.
Foresters have always been regarded as a low priority in the minds of politicians. They prefer to cater for the more wealthy, affluent areas of the south of England. We Foresters mean nothing to them.
Our own MP seems to have little or no interest in this matter. Our accent is of no consequence to any of them, we are at the bottom of the list of priorities.
We just have to keep plodding on regardless. If we ever get a new hospital we shall have the shock of our lives
