WE have been visiting Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for the last four weeks and we are quite amazed at the fag-ends outside the main entrance. There's a notice up saying "Welcome to our smoke free hospital."

We recently went to a hospital in Hereford and there were no fag ends outside at all.

I'm not saying that people should be stopped smoking, because I've never smoked, so it's easy to say. But surely if the hospital is spending time and taxpayers' money for all these notices they should see that fag ends are cleaned away or people smoking should have a bit of consideration for their hospital and other people who are having to walk in and out of the main entrance.

We walk through clouds of smoke to get into their smoke free hopsital! – Christine Morris, Coleford.
