YET again the Dilke Hospital is in the limelight, again about money problems.
Yes, I know a lot of do-gooders raise a lot of money for this hospital to try to keep it open. I think this hospital is well past its time, the staff all do a fantastic job, but they are working in very old buildings and it's about time they were given a state of the art building in which to carry out the fantastic work they do.
The Forest needs a hospital with all medical services under one roof – such as doctors' surgeries, X-ray departments, injuries unit, wards, day care centre, endoscopy unit and cafe. And yes, many members of my family have paid money towards this hospital, but it's time to move on. – Not a do-gooder any more.
