IT was billed as a fete but in reality it was one final chance to meet up and say goodbye to an old friend before it disappears forever. 

In September the new, state-of-the-art Caldicot School will open, on budget and on time but the fete in the old school brought together nearly 60 years of the town’s childhood memories.
