HE said spinning for 12 hours was hard going but Paul Hudson has exceeded this by spinning continuously for 24 hours.
Paul, who is a member at Club Ginger, was left paralysed following a serious injury during a rugby game seven years ago and doctors feared he would never be able to walk again.
But, remarkably, he gained strength and since the death of his grandson, Shay, two years ago has actively fundraised for charity.
As part of his continued dedication to raise money for the charity, Wings for Life, a spinal cord research foundation, he took part in a 24-hour spin-a-thon at Club Ginger.
Personal trainer, Debra Elsmore said: "Club Ginger was buzzing. Last year, Paul cycled to raise money in memory of his grandson Shay who died soon after he was born, raising more than £3,000 for the charity, Tommy's, to support Sue Thomas place in the London Marathon. This year he decided to raise money for the charity Wings for Life, the spinal cord research foundation, bringing in more than £1,200 so far."
Paul was supported throughout the challenge by colleagues, club members and friends cycling alongside him. Club Ginger owner, Andy Horne, arrived at midnight to teach a late night session and lifted morale.
The last hour was celebrated in true Tour de France-style as bottles of champagne were sipped and passed around among participants and a large crowd gathered to cheer him on.
Debra added: "It's been a privilege to cycle alongside Paul, he is truly inspirational!"
