I AM a 90 year old man and what I have been seeing on the news is horrifying. It seems that folks have no respect for anything or anyone. Anarchy?

Who should they have respect for? Politicians with the expenses scandals?

I am sorry to say, but are the religious hierarchy worthy of our respect with the sexual scandals now coming to light?

The banking industry has lost my respect. The banks are the ones who have caused most of the troubles with their greed and failure to give help to struggling businesses.

I think I can respect just one organisation – the armed forces. This is because of the discipline.

This is what is needed in our country, but it seems to be anathema to the do-gooders and left-wingers.

When I was a child I dared not come home and tell my parents that I had had the 'stick', because my mother, God bless her, would also have punished me.
