OVER 200 motorcyclists will set out from Coleford next month without a clue where they are going!
All they know is that 120 miles later they will be back in the Forest having raised hundreds of pounds for two local charities.
The bikers – and everyone is welcome from 50cc to 1,500cc machines – will mainly be members of the Free Forest Riders Motorcycle Club but they will be supported by riders from all parts of the county and further afield, including some on veteran machines.
The ride has been organised to raise funds for Forest of Dean Contact a Family and the Severn View Residential Care Home at Chepstow.
Club chief Claire Taylor said the exact route was a closely guarded secret.
"No-one knows but the committee. The route has been carefully planned and there will be a couple of stops. It will all be marshalled and it should be a lot of fun," she said.
Claire and a small team of club members were out checking the route again last weekend but there will be no more information available until the day of the ride on Sunday, May 5 when the group gathers at J.R. Maddocks at Coleford.
Prizes worth over £700 have been donated for a competition which will also be used to boost charity funds.
The entry fee of £5 will go entirely to the charities.
