THE tenant of a sheltered bungalow in Littledean says he is reaching a state of desperation since falling on a water-damaged path.

"My solicitor is looking at taking action against Two Rivers Housing," says disabled David Perrott, whose flood-beset home is in Oakway near Littledean Jail.

"They keep saying they will take action to remedy the flooding in my garden and will call me back soon, but then I hear absolutely nothing.

"Now I have to go to the Nuffield Hospital in Cheltenham for a specialist to assess the damage to my leg for an insurance claim."

Mr Perrott injured his leg after catching his foot in a gap between his mended garden path and the flooded lawn.

He says water collects against his fence to one side of the property and runs off higher ground into the garden on the other. On top of it all there is also a spring under the garden and possibly also under the house, and his neighbour's manhole cover overflows.

"It would not be so bad if Two Rivers tried to keep me informed of what is going on but I am completely in the dark," he said.

Gary Thrussell, Two Rivers neighbourhood repairs manager, said: "We are in contact with Mr Perrott and are making every effort to ensure he remains up to date with the progress in this complex matter. We are currently in talks with an external works specialist to find the best possible solution to this situation for Mr Perrott."

However Mr Perrott maintains that neither Mr Thrussell or anyone else has been in touch with him since before Christmas.
