CONGRATULATIONS Barry Thompson you and your cronies at Two Rivers Housing have upset my 89 year old father-in-law to such an extent he cannot sleep at night. Despite my assurances that it is just scare-mongering he is insisting that I pay on his behalf the £33.28 they say is owing for Estate Maintenance Service Charge (in plain terms grass cutting).

The letter headed 'Final Reminder' and stating if invoice is not settled within 14 days they will start the legal process to recover the debt has had a terrible effect on him. He cannot understand why after buying his home many years ago under the right to buy scheme he is now expected to pay this charge for cutting grass on a piece of land he does not even own.

So I hope you can sleep well after you read this letter Mr Thompson providing you even care enough to read it. I

wonder does Two Rivers Housing as a registered charity have directors or even shareholders? If so at least he will be able to say to them profits are up this month I have managed to extract some money from a few senior citizens, even managed to frighten one very proud man which is something even Hitler could not do during the Second World War.

I am afraid, Mr Edwards of Sedbury, you were right. Our law-abiding senior citizens would rather settle an invoice that is nothing short of obtaining money by intimidation than have someone think they do not pay their debts.

Merry Christmas, Mr Thompson, your cheque is on its way. – R. Langton, Lancaster Drive, Lydney.
