A STATE-of-the-art maths block has been officially opened at Dene Magna School in Mitcheldean.

The official opening was performed by Forest MP Mark Harper who was joined by pupils and staff.

The £1.2 million building, which was built by Gloucestershire firm Kier Construction, opened ahead of schedule and was on budget.

The six classrooms- some of which have stunning views over the surrounding countryside - replace a decades-old block which was dingy and cramped.
