IT is believed up to 60 jobs could be lost from the Forest following the announcement by a distribution firm that it is moving to Daventry.
Ceva Logistics, formerly TNT, which is based at the Vantage Point Business Park in Mitcheldean says it is moving to Daventry this July.
The centre distributes photocopiers, printers and other products on behalf of Xerox - a company which announced it was closing its Mitcheldean plant earlier this year.
A statement by Ceva said: "The proposal is based on providing Xerox with an efficient operation that meets its current business requirements. This proposal affects approximately 60 employees at the site. There will be opportunities to transfer to the site (Daventry) for all employees who wish to do so anf for those who cannot, or do not wish to transfer to the new facility, Ceva will be actively seeking redeployment within its business.
"We are fully committed to keeping our employees informed throughout the process, but as we are still in the process of consultation, it is too early to speculate on the outcome."
