LOCAL wildlife enthusiasts are to have an opportunity to get up close and personal with Forest creatures of the night – moths!

The Cannop Bridge nature reserve, near Parkend, is said to be home to thousands of them.

On Saturday May 14 (8.30pm) experts from Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust will be on hand to help nature lovers identify moths attracted to traps and powerful light lures. Visitors will also learn about the behaviour of moths.

Visitors can also see experts using a bat detector – equipment used to track the main predator of the moth.

The moth hunt night is free but booking is required – telephone 01452 383333.
