A NEW dog flyball team, Dean Dynamos, has been set up in the Forest and are looking for new handlers and intrepid dogs who don't mind going through the hoop.

Dean Dynamos marks the first time the Forest of Dean has had its own Flyball team and the group is keen to raise awareness.

Kate Claxton, who runs Dean Dynamos, says: "Dogs of all shapes and sizes can play Flyball and handlers don't require any specific levels of fitness – our team captain competes on crutches – so it really is an all-inclusive sport. "We'd like to let everyone know the team exists, and to invite people to come along and give it a try!"

Flyball is a fast paced dog sport, essentially a relay race between two teams of four dogs who must run over four hurdles, retrieve a tennis ball from a spring loaded 'box' and return to the handler as fast as possible.
