A YOUTH of 17 has been arrested in connection with a spate of vehicle breaks in Newnham-on-Severn and Cinderford in December and January.

Officers spotted someone in a dark hooded top crouched down by a vehicle on Church Road in Cinderford at around 3.30am on Friday, January 13.

A short time later a 17-year-old from Cinderford was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle in connection with the incidents. He has been bailed to attend Gloucester Police Station on February 7, pending further inquiries.

Several vehicles in Newnham-on-Severn were broken into on Sunday, December 11, with CDs and cash among the items taken, while vehicles in Buckshaft Road, Woodland View and Belle Vue Road in Cinderford were targeted overnight on Thursday (January 5).
