CHEPSTOW opera singer Karl Daymond has been asked to sing at the memorial to legendary Welsh actor Victor Spinetti in Covent Garden in October.

Karl worked closely with the Ebbw Vale-born actor in the Cal Rosa Opera Company's production of The Merry Widow which toured the UK and South Africa,

Karl said: "He was a wonderful colleague and it was a joy to play scenes with someone of his experience and talent."
