A CHEPSTOW martial arts gym held a sponsored kickathon in aid of the charity 'Stand against Violence'.
Members at the Modern Samurai Martial Arts Academy in Bulwark, performed more than 5,000 kicks at the end of June to raise money for the charity which was launched in 2005, in memory of 18-year-old Lloyd Fouracre, who died following an unprovoked alcohol-fuelled attack. The charity focusses on education through schools and colleges as a means of prevention.
Instructor, Matt Stait and the students at the academy achieved well over the target of 5,000 kicks by including games, competitions and fun drills and raised more than £200.
Matt said: "I would like to thank all the students who participated on the night and helped to make it such a fun event. We hope to see you all there for the next one."
