MONEY from a children’s money box were among the things stolen during a day-time raid on a Woolaston home.
The victim at Ring Fence, who did not wish to be named, told the Review her two young sons are distressed as a laptop and PS4 games console were also taken.
The burglary is the second incident to happen in the area in the last few weeks.
The victim said: “I hope by talking publically about this that it may help the police and alert the neighbourhood.
“We have not been burgled before but I believe a house on the Common nearby had some vintage, enamelled advertising signs stolen recently.
“The items taken affect the boys most. They have suffered shock and lost part of the innocence of younger childhood; they can’t comprehend strangers coming into our home and targeting their area.
“Unfortunately, one son lost his money box – so heavy, full of loose change, it was difficult to lift. They lost their Christmas gift – a games console – and the family laptop which, although not new, was used by them for homework.
“We have fitted extra security measures, but they needed great reassurance that no one would try to get in again.
“We understand an unknown silver car was seen by a neighbour, parked next to our house, blocking the lane, which could possibly be connected.”
Anyone with any information should call the police on 101 quoting incident number 47 of March 7.
