SINGING sensation Lady Gaga has received a tea cup and saucer specially made for her by Parkend potter Mary Rose Young.

The colourful crockery was delivered to her backstage at the Manchester Evening News Arena where she was performing with Coldplay and Gary Barlow among others at a Children in Need charity show.

Mary had made the cup and saucer after it was specially commissioned by Lady Gaga's publishing agent, who unfortunately did not leave a delivery address. Apparently Lady Gaga had seen some of Mary's work and was very excited about it.

Mary's brother James has been trying to track her down but her movements on the international stage and lack of a defined base have left him baffled.

But after a Review story about the problem a reader contacted him with the name and address of Lady Gaga's personal assistant, who was able to send it up to Manchester to connect with the singer's visit.

"I hope she's sitting down and enjoying a cup of tea in it at this very moment," said James on Tuesday.
