POLICE are investigating the theft of a yearling ewe and four lambs from Moseley Green.

The animals – the lambs earmarked and the ewe tagged but not shorn – disappeared between 2pm on Saturday and 8am on Sunday morning.

Owner Henry Mills, of Blakeney, chairman of the Commoners' Association, said his suspicions that the animals had been taken were confirmed following a fruitless search on Monday.

He asks anyone who witnessed sheep being rounded up or saw a vehicle or person acting suspiciously to contact the police on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident number 47/11.
