Adverts. I hate them.  They keep telling us to consume, consume, consume.

But we've got to stop thinking in these terms as the Earth's resources run out and we have to think seriously about pollution.  With less time spent producing for consumerism we'd have more leisure time.  We'd have leisure to enjoy gardening for our own vegetables and cooking with real food, leisure for conviviality and to enjoy the arts and sport. 

Walking and cycling not only do us good but can be exhilarating – although, I admit, only downhill.   Going on the bus can be a laugh and you hear the latest gossip.
