CAN you put up with another letter about dog mess?

I was in Great Barnets woods several times during this last week and in the car park alone there were two beer cans, two cigarette packets, two tobacco wrappers, four chocolate bar wrappers, one large plastic coke bottle, four crisp packets, and several paper tissues.

I am sickened by the lack of thought to the environment that parents seem to have when their children throw down litter and are not made to pick it up. That goes for parents as well of course, with tobacco and cigarette packets and beer cans and coke bottles from teenagers, who should know better, but were probably not made to pick up litter as small children.

Am I generalising and blaming all parents, teenagers and small children for dropped litter?

And what was I doing in the woods – taking my two dogs for a walk, complete with nappy sacks for their pooh!

So please don't blame all dog owners for the mess. Some of us do pick up. And I am sure that most parents, teenagers and small children pick up their litter. So perhaps all of us could make a little more effort to keep our environment pleasant. – Mrs V.M. Clift, Wyebank Road, Tutshill.
