My name is Martyn Stinton and I was wondering if your readers can help me?
For the past few years I have been trying to put together my wife's and my own family trees and although I have managed to find most of my wife's family in the Forest we are stuck.
My wife's mother Joan Irene Aston was born in Lydbrook in 1931 but was bought up by her uncle George who lived in Cwmbran. My research showed that Joan had a brother, Kenny, who died in 1989 and is buried at Mile End. I also found that Harriet, their mother, was born in 1900 and was never married
Most of the people I have spoken to have given me the name George Lumley or Lumbley who they thought was her husband but they were not sure. Can any of your readers help me in tracking down Joan and Kenny's father and what happened to him as I cannot find anything. If any of your reader knew Harriet or Kenny Aston from Lydbrook or have any photographs of them I would be very interested to here from them. – Martyn Stinton (01633 864606).
