THE Dean Forest Railway will appear on the small screen later this year as a National Geographic channel presenter undertook some challenges.
Tim Shaw and his crew were filming scenes at the tourist attraction last week for a series of new shorts taken across the UK as part of a sponsorship deal with Jeep.
In the 60 second clip viewers will see Tim learn how to drive a steam train before embarking on a short trip north from Norchard into the Forest.
Chairman at the railway, Ben Gray said: "The day was very successful and our volunteers really enjoyed doing something different. I am very pleased that we were able to be so flexible to give them all the shots they wanted and look forward to seeing the 60 second spot on National Geographic."
He added: "The regular spots advertising Jeep visiting the Forest of Dean are going to be frequently shown on the National Geographic channel and I am thrilled that the area and the place the railway has in it are going to feature so prominently."
After they sampled life on the tracks the crew visited the Brecon Beacons to try hand gliding.
