A MAN died after suffering a suspected heart attack in a Ross-on-Wye pub on Sunday afternoon.

The West Midlands Air Ambulance was scrambled from Strensham in response to the incident at the King Charles II pub in Broad Street shortly before 4pm and landed beside the town’s Red Meadow car park.

A bystander and a nurse performed CPR on the collapsed man before two ambulances and a paramedic officer arrived at the pub.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "Unfortunately the man was declared dead at the scene, and was transported to the mortuary."

A post on the pub’s Facebook page around 6pm on Sunday (August 12) said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances we will be closed this evening.

“Please do not message team members asking for details as they’ve had a pretty rough day.

“Apologies for any inconvenience caused but we hope to be open tomorrow from 12.”
