A MAN suffered a head injury and bruised ribs after he was robbed on his way home from a pub in Lydney last Wednesday night (April 6).

The 18-year-old victim had left the Greyhound Inn and was walking along Newerne Street when he was attacked by a group of around five men.

During the assault the man’s wallet, some trainers and car keys to his blue Fiesta were taken. He later discovered the car had also been stolen although it was recovered in Lydney a day later.

The man was treated at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for lacerations to his head, a swollen eye, bump to the head and bruised ribs.

It’s understood the incident happened at around 11.30pm.
