A 35-YEAR-OLD man was taken to hospital with serious injurues after armed police were called to a disturbance at a property in Caldicot, yesterday.
The incident happened yesterday morning (Wednesday, November 20) in Newport Road, when residents saw police at the scene and and an ambulance rushing from the scene.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “At approximately 9.35am on Wednesday, November 20, we were called to reports of a disturbance where a man had received serious injuries, at a property on Newport Road, Caldicot.
“A 35-year-old man was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital where he currently remains in a serious but stable condition.
“A 35-year-old man from the Caldicot area has been arrested on suspicion of serious assault and remains in police custody. We are not looking for anyone else at this time.”
