RAIL commuters in the Forest have faced major train delays this morning after a man was hit by a train this morning.
The Bristish Transport Police said it was called at 7.25am to a tunnel near Newnham, following a report a person had been hit by a train.
Emergency services attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
Officers are working to establish the man’s identity and inform his next of kin.
Arriva Trains Wales said the line between Newport South Wales and Gloucester has now reopened.
