THE Forest's best known and most remarkable marathon man, Keith James, of Cinderford, has given another big boost to two good causes.

The fruit and veg man has completed eight marathons, the latest being the Flora London event. And this time he has raised £1,600 to be shared between the Dilke Memorial Hospital and the Cobalt Unit's crack cancer campaign.

Keith trotted round London in a very respectable four and half hours – and all being well he is already planning next year's run.

Reflecting on the money he raised this time, he said: "It's a super response. I'm really pleased and thrilled at the way everyone has rallied round."

For the Cobalt Appeal, Dave Bennett described Mr James as "a star." He said: "He's a real pacesetter, leaving most of us on the starting blocks.

"We appreciate all he has done and the wonderful generosity of so many unsung heroes who continue to help us provide additional cancer fighting resources."
