SCOUTS across the area had their own ‘non-uniform’ day to mark the birth of the movement’s founder, Baden-Powell.

Several schools allowed Scouts, Cubs and Beavers to mark Founder’s Day by swapping their school uniform for their troops’ jumpers and neckers.

The local schools taking part were: Drybrook Primary School, English Bicknor, Littledean, Ruardean and Ruardean Woodside primary schools, Dene Magna School Mitcheldean and John Kyrle High School in Ross.
