A QUICK-thinking motorist prevented a potential accident in the centre of Newnham when another car's brakes failed.
A Mini parked on Dean Road on Monday started rolling down the hill towards the junction with the A48.
It was stopped in its tracks by a driver – identified to the Review as Nick Ball of Awre – who held it up until help arrived.
The Mini was secured with bricks under the wheels until the owner was located.
Witness Sue Llewellyn said: "I was in Newnham Post Office and I saw the Mini coming down Dean Road with no driver.
"Another motorist jumped out of his car and stopped it rolling down to the A48.
"If he hadn't had done that there could have been a very nasty accident."
