A YOUNG missing person was found in the Forest of Dean when he flagged down a helicopter with his cherry and white Gloucester RFC shirt.

The Almondsbury section of the National Police Air Service said the cherry and white strip being waved in the air was enough to attract their attention and they were able to locate them.

The incident, which took place last Wednesday, August 7, cheered some Gloucester rugby fans about the benefits of being part of the ‘Glaws family’.

The NPAS tweeted: “Young missing person in the Forest of Dean today used his Gloucester Rugby shirt to attract our attention.”

Almondsbury NPAS added: “What do you use yours for?”

Police later confirmed that a 16-year-old boy who had been reported missing from Gloucestershire Royal Hospital since Friday, August 2, had been found.
