THE man hit by a Toyota Celica following a stabbing close to Lydney railway station says he was a victim of mistaken identity and had nothing to do with the incident.
The 33-year-old from Lydney was driven down by the car in the afternoon of September 25. He says he was on his way to his mother's house for Sunday lunch and was not known to anyone involved. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Three people have been arrested and bailed on suspicion of attempted murder. A 30-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of causing grevious bodily harm (no formal complaint is being made) and possession of class B drugs.
