FOLLOWING an exhibition of plans for a new Sainsbury's store in Cinderford, the people behind the project say it is enjoying overwhelming approval.
Nearly 400 people attended Rothdean and Sainsbury's public exhibition in Cinderford which displayed the proposal and asked for comments.
It sees investment in Rothdean's relocation to modern, purpose built premises on the Forest Vale Industrial Park along with a Sainsbury's store, petrol station and 20 homes at Station Street.
Rothdean and Sainsbury's outline planning application is registered with the Forest of Dean District Council.
With council data suggesting that room exists in the town for only one more supermarket, Sainsbury's believes that its application should be considered alongside that of Trilogy's proposal for a store at Steam Mills, to ensure an informed and reasoned decision is made "in the best interests of Cinderford residents and businesses".
