NEARLY 40 local businesses were given a morning wake-up call by a motivational speaker during a breakfast meeting.

The meeting at Vantage Point in Mitcheldean was organised by Stuart Barnes, who runs his own consultancy company, to encourage business growth in the Forest.

Motivational speaker and business coach, Andrew Pearson gave the business leaders the opportunity to share ideas and re-evaluate their business practice.

Also present was Forest MP Mark Harper who explained to delegates the implications of the recent autumn statement and how they could benefit.

The event was supported by Gloucestershire First Local Enterprise Partnership who Stuart is an active ambassador for.

He said: "The Forest Means Business events have been running for four years and have been hugely successful in supporting existing businesses in the area to obtain vital knowledge, advice and inspiration for business growth.

"I am delighted Andrew's advice was inspirational to our audience and I'm looking forward to arranging the next speaker in February. These events are free to attend, and I would urge any local business that wishes to attend to get in touch."

The next meeting is Friday, February 14 from 7.45am until 9.30am. To book a free place or for more information call GFirst LEP on 01452 328320.
