THE Magic of Motown is the first confirmed act taking part in Castell Roc Festival 2017 organisers have announced.

Spokesperson for the not-for-profit organisation behind the festival, Carol Richards, said: “After a dazzling array of star-studded shows in 2016, we’ve been inundated with requests to play at the acclaimed festival. We’ve had the pleasure of checking out The Magic of Motown and it’s a real belter. The show revives classic Motown hits with all the dazzling dance moves, glittering costume changes and superb musicianship of the original artists. It’s simply astounding and has already been enjoyed by over a million people worldwide.

“Since the success of this year’s programme, the phone has not stopped ringing with offers to play in 2017, as word continues to spread about both the wonderful venue and the amazing atmosphere created within Chepstow Castle. We are very fortunate to be in a position where we can be selective, and our team are currently finalising the bill for 2017.

“We had an amazing 2016, with superb acts including The Proclaimers, The Shires and Jools Holland. It was an honour to see such household names in Chepstow and ultimately to see the many thousands of visitors attracted from near and far enjoying the shows and the town as a whole.

“Wherever possible the festival is proud to support local companies in its infrastructure and we want to convey our thanks to Cadw and to the people of Chepstow.”
