I WOULD like to know if the Forest of Dean is to become a large cycle path to the annoyance of walkers, anglers and nature and dog lovers.

Is there anywhere left we can walk or just simply sit and enjoy the natural beauty of the Forest without being accompanied by a host of lycra-clad know-alls trying to break the speed limit on a mountain bike?

We try to harmonise with each other but they just seem to want to take it all over.

You might say why don't we use the footpaths. Yeah!, good idea, but where have they all gone?

If they are not chewed up by mountain bikes they have been changed so one can even gain access to the woods.

As in the letter last week (reference Lydbrook railway line) it was a classic example.

Maybe somebody will listen. – Concerned, Lydbrook.
