THE timing of the consultation by the Forest of Dean campus on dropping A-Levels is interesting: construction work is due to start on the much smaller college relocation building at Cinderford.

One wonders whether the new college will shrink again or whether the decision to drop A-Levels was actually taken when the college plans were drawn up with a smaller footprint in 2014, or when the floor area was further reduced in January 2016 and A-Levels are, in fact, a casualty of the move?
