A 12-year-old Caldicot boy's determination to earn the cash to buy a bike brought him hundreds of online admirers.
Cameron Convery, of Park Road, set up his own lawn mowing business in order to raise £170 for the chopper-style Stilletto bike.
His mum, Liz, put updates on a Facebook page and when she posted a photo of Cameron – who is known as Cam - with his new bike, 322 people "liked" it and more than 80 commented on his efforts.
Cam saw an advert for the bike and set about working out how he could raise the money – and he saw his chance when somebody living close by offered a free petrol mower.
Mrs Convery said: "Cam really struggles with school and we are sure he has Aspergers (Syndrome) so daily life often gets him down – but when he focuses on something he loves or understands he makes it a goal.
"Cam's little story seemed to be followed by many people and he got a lot of interest because he was so willing to work.
Cameron walked between Caldicot and Rogiet with his mower charging £5 to cut a lawn.
He even kept going when lost £40 of his earnings – although a girl found £10 of it in Rogiet and kindly returned it.
Cameron took just a week to raise the £170 needed to buy the bike from a seller in Portskewett.
Mrs Convery added: "People are constantly stopping me and have mailed and texted me to say how proud they are of my young lad."
Cameron said mowing lawns was hard work but the bike was "wicked".
Among the messages was one that read: "Just wanted to say the picture of your son brought a tear to my eye...as did how hard he worked to get it."
