HOORAY to the people of Bream and two weeks ago to the people of Parkend. How right they are that people do not want free-roaming sheep to return to the villages in the Forest. I fully endorse this feeling and so do the majority of villagers in Pillowell and Whitecroft.
Foot and Mouth was very tragic for the animals and farmers, however it showed people how nice their Forest communities were without the stench of sheep excrement, the danger to road users and nuisance to householders' property.
How nice it is for schoolchildren and parents to walk to/from school in our villages and people now have pride to cut the grass surrounding their homes and even plant flowers.
We must not let a very small minority spoil all this for the majority in the 21st century. Sheep should be kept in fields and enclosures where they can live a much happier life and the Forest community also. – R. Preest. (No relation to the anti-sheep campaigners of Parkend).
