THE bride murdered during an alleged car-jacking in South Africa was the wife of the co-owner of the Gibraltar House Care Village on the outskirts of Monmouth.
AN identity parade is to be held in South Africa in connection with the murder of Anni Dewani, 28, who married her husband Shrien in India three weeks ago. The couple were on honeymoon in South Africa when their people carrier was held up by carjackers in a township outside Cape Town.
Anni's body was later found by police slumped in the back seat with a gun shot wound to her neck by police. Her 31-year-old husband was released unharmed in another township.
Alan Winde, the country's provincial tourism minister, believes that the couple had lost their way after asking their driver to show them the real South Africa when they were held up by the carjackers.
Mr Dewani has since returned to the UK, but has not turned up to work from the company's PSP healthcare offices in Bristol. He is expected to return to South Africa to take part in the identity parade and point out crime scenes to Cape Town police.
Three men have since been arrested in connection with the murder.
•Gibraltar Care village has room for around 90 residents and is situated on Gibraltar Rock overlooking the Wye Valley just outside Monmouth Town.
