THE Chepstow Acoustic Music Club has booked legendary blues guitarist Woody Mann for a concert and guitar workshop later this month.

Critics have praised Mann as a master who can draw inspiration from many directions and his performances are magical – he's someone not to be missed, says club spokesman Mick Widder.

"It's a fantastic opportunity to witness one of America's most influential and superb singer songwriters performing his own material, which is firmly rooted in the jazz and blues traditions of the 1920s and 30s."

The star guest will be appearing at The Drill Hall, Lower Church Street, on Friday June 24 (8pm) and following up with a guitar workshop at the Chepstow Castle Inn, Bridge Street, on Saturday, June 25.

The club has also booked Martin Simpson, another very influential guitarist and singer songwriter, to appear in December.
